3 Ways To Exercise Your Eyes

Do you ever feel like your eyes are strained or tired? This is a surprisingly common symptom amongst people who spend a long time each day staring at a screen, which can weaken the eye muscles. Symptoms might include problems with vision, dry eyes and perhaps a headache and feelings of anxiety. So what do you do, if avoiding screens is not an option due to your day job, smartphone and television? Don’t worry, in this article we’ll explore ways to exercise your eyes, to help them to relax.

Roll Your Eyes

In this eye exercise, you are going to relax your shoulders and keep your head straight. Move your eyes slowly to the left and pause. Then slowly look up and then to the right. Keep up this rolling motion, first by moving your eyes clockwise, followed by changing directions and moving them counterclockwise. Aim for 10 repetitions in each direction.

Focus On A Moving Object

To really strengthen your eye muscles, try focusing on a moving object. Start by grabbing a pen or a pencil and hold it out in front of you at arms length. Next, you’re going to begin moving it towards you, maintaining focus on the tip of the pen or pencil at all times. Repeat this exercise to make up 10 repetitions.

Gentle Eye Massage

For this exercise, rub your hands together vigorously to create warmth. Then, cup your eyes using your warm hands. In addition to this, you can also rub the areas around your eyes to give yourself some light relief after a hard day in the office.

Try using these techniques on a daily basis, a few times a day and your eyes should gradually start to feel more relaxed over time.
