Exercises That Arent That Good For Weight Loss
You might think that any type of exercise is good for weight loss. Yes exercise of any kind will raise your heart rate and help to contribute towards fat burning however some exercises simply aren’t that great for losing weight.
If you are currently doing any of the exercises outlined in this article, you may be wasting valuable time in the gym. The actual chances of you seeing any sort of results from these exercises are relatively low, so you may want to consider eliminating them altogether and focusing on exercises that give you more bang for your buck.
Let’s take a look at these ineffective exercises.
Whilst some abdominal exercises such as the plank, can be great for strengthening your core muscles, they are on the whole ineffective for weight loss. Many people fall victim to thinking that to lose fat around their stomach, they must train the abs.
Unfortunately this does not work and abdominal exercises burn such a little amount of calories that they are almost pointless with regards to losing weight.
Perhaps it’s time to lay off the crunches?
Bicep curls are another exercise which are pretty useless for weight loss. Yes they can help to make your biceps look defined, however they are such a small muscle group that the body won’t be stimulated into burning many calories.
In order to maximise your fat burning efforts, you should concentrate on exercises that help you to burn as many calories as possible in a short period of time. Bicep curls simply do not fit this criteria.
Improper Use Of Cardio Machines
Cardio machines can provide the body with a great fat burning workout when used properly. However, if you like to lean on the rails whilst using the treadmill for example, taking all of your weight off of your legs, you will be reducing the effectiveness of your workouts.
When you use a cardio machine, make sure you use it properly to make your workout count. If you find yourself holding on for dear life as the pace is too fast, try lowering the speed until you feel comfortable enough to not use the rails. Over time you will start to see better results.
That concludes this article on exercises that arent that good for weight loss, do you need to re-think your workout routine?
